Menometrorrhagia - Dum Dum Core

Mega apologies for the shitty low res image in today's post.

Well then, I've heard a lot of disgusting goregrind/gorenoise stuff, but I've never heard a band or project in this vein do a fucking Rihanna cover before. Lol. Menometrorrhagia stands in the no-mans land between the super-niche genres of goregrind and gorenoise, unwilling to fall firmly into one over the other. I'd say it was more akin to gorenoise but the more intelligible drum machine pace and song structure keep it in the goregrind camp. Also the vocals are not exclusively pitchshifted, even though the shifted vocals are some of the best I've ever heard. But, I guess I'm splitting hairs here, like only true music nerds can!

Like all good gorenoise the buzzing bass is the backdrop for the annihilation farting and pissing all over the place, while the drums rattle away really nicely - there's some great drum programming going on here and it's nice to see a bit of effort going into this facet of music; often in these scenes the drum machine programming is pushed to maximum speed and left at that, but considering the genre style the drum programming here is fresh and invigorating. Some slower songs towards the end of the EP allow some creative drum programming to unfold.

Goregrind nerds unite! Bleurgh!!!
